Cinema you can move in.

Cinema is ready to move.

Cinemas are losing their audiences to media that invite people in: to play, share and co-create. A new generation grew up participating.

Festivals and raves bring people together, and the story gets lost in the noise.

RaveScreen brings them together: a film, a live soundtrack, and a space where people can move, meet, express, explore and shake, safely.

A second life for our visual heritage.

Europe produces a remarkable diversity of films, but many reach only a fraction of their potential audience.

RaveScreen creates another route back to the public: recontextualising existing films as live, collective experiences, rather than treating the theatrical screening as their final form.

Manifesto

  1. Dance, or don't. Both are ways of participating.
  2. RaveScreen is not a rave and not a screening. It adds story to music and movement to cinema.
  3. The body has a place in cinema. It is the instrument that receives the film. Cinema carries memory in the body as much as in the mind.
  4. Liveness is the people next to you. Breathe the same air, watch the same light together.
  5. Accessibility is a condition of RaveScreen.
  6. We programme films that can hold contemporary issues, historical memory, political tension, and joy. And joy is the harder one.
  7. RaveScreen travels and wakes up spaces: pools, airports, car parks. Any room can become a cinema for one night.
  8. We give films a second life. Our visual heritage is a repertoire to play.
  9. RaveScreen is a method that travels to meet local artists in local rooms.
  10. The tenth point is yours.
